Built for harsh environments

The Latitude 5424 Rugged is a new 14.0-inch laptop designed for field workers who need a device that survives drops, vibration, and extreme temperatures. Its chassis passes military-grade testing so the hardware keeps running where standard notebooks would fail. The 10-point touchscreen works even with gloves on.

Straightforward deployment

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit loads on the 256 GB SSD out of the box, so the machine is ready for domain join or MDM enrolment without a clean install. The quad-core i7-8650U and 8 GB DDR4 handle typical business workloads, though the single memory slot limits future upgrades. Driver packs are available from Dell for automated imaging.

Steady output on long shifts

Under sustained load the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and processor maintain stable clocks thanks to the rugged thermal design, avoiding the throttling seen in thinner ultraportables. Battery options include 6- or 9-cell packs with hot-swap capability, letting crews swap cells without shutting down during extended field operations.
