Rugged 14″ laptop for field work

The DELL Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch rugged notebook built to withstand harsh environments with military-grade construction. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8 GB DDR4 memory. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display is designed for outdoor visibility. Dual M.2 SSDs provide 256 GB and 1 TB of storage.

Suits mobile professionals needing durability

This laptop fits users who work outdoors, in vehicles or on industrial sites where shock, vibration and direct sunlight are daily conditions. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and non-touch screen limit its appeal for creative workloads or multi-touch interaction. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or a lighter ultraportable should look elsewhere.

Dual M.2 SSD configuration decides fit

The machine ships with two M.2 solid-state drives totalling 256 GB plus 1 TB, a combination that separates the operating system from large project files without mechanical hard drives. If your workflow requires a single large volume or a specific drive protocol not confirmed here, verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

Can I run the same Windows 10 Pro 64-bit image I use on older Dell Latitude models on this i7-8650U unit?

Yes, the system ships with Windows 10 Professional 64-bit pre-installed, so an existing corporate image for that OS will install and activate normally on the 8th-generation quad-core processor.

How do I confirm the 14.0-inch FHD non-touch panel and both M.2 SSDs are detected after first boot?

Open Settings > System > Display to verify the 1920 x 1080 resolution, then open Disk Management to confirm both the 256 GB and 1 TB M.2 drives appear with correct capacities.

Does the package include the Dell OEM charger and the USB Bluetooth dongle referenced in the highlights?

The box contains the laptop, the Dell OEM power adapter, and a USB Bluetooth dongle for wireless peripheral connectivity.
