DELL Latitude 5424 Rugged Laptop

This DELL Latitude 5424 is a rugged 14.0-inch laptop built for harsh environments. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory and dual M.2 solid-state storage totalling 256GB plus 1TB. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Installation and common issues

As a complete notebook the unit requires no internal assembly; simply connect the included OEM charger and power on. The non-touch FHD display (1920 x 1080) uses Intel UHD Graphics 620, so driver updates come through standard Windows channels. Verify that any legacy serial peripherals match the single onboard serial port before relying on them in the field.

Pre-purchase checks

Confirm that your workflow does not demand a touchscreen, as this model is non-touch only. Ensure your essential software supports Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and runs adequately on integrated graphics. Check that the available USB 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, RJ-45 and single serial port cover your peripheral and docking needs.

The Dell OEM charger is included; any dock, external monitor, rugged carry case or spare battery is sold separately.

Should I choose the 256 GB M.2 plus 1 TB M.2 dual SSD configuration or a single larger drive?
