15.6-inch FHD touchscreen laptop

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor. It comes with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a dual-storage configuration of a 256 GB M.2 SSD plus a 1 TB secondary SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Build and daily connectivity

The chassis measures .9 inches at the front, 14.8 inches wide and 9.87 inches deep, weighing 4.19 lbs. Ports include HDMI, VGA, RJ45, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports with one PowerShare, a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort alt mode, an SD card reader, audio combo jack, Noble Wedge lock slot and an optional SIM tray. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless duties.

Upgrade context and fit

This unit replaces an older 14.0-inch or non-touch business laptop where more screen real estate, touch input and larger combined storage are required. The quad-core U-series CPU and 16 GB RAM suit general office workloads, multi-tab browsing and light content creation. Buyers needing discrete graphics, Thunderbolt-certified docking or a lighter ultrabook form factor should look elsewhere.
