Dell Latitude 5490 14" Core i7 8th Gen Laptop

This Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor running at 1.90 GHz. It comes with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 620. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on this new unit.

Buyers needing a portable business laptop

This configuration suits professionals who want a 14 inch form factor with 16 GB of installed memory and a 512 GB solid state drive for general office applications. It is not for users who require a higher resolution display, a dedicated graphics processor, a touchscreen, or more than two memory slots for future expansion.

1366 x 768 non-touch display resolution

The screen resolution is 1366 x 768 on a 14.0 inch Wide UXGA panel without touch input. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives this panel. If your workflow demands a sharper 1080p or higher resolution screen, this specific display specification will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

How does the 1.90 GHz Core i7 perform once the laptop is running everyday workloads?

The 8th generation Core i7 runs at a minimum 1.90 GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD, so Windows 11 Pro and typical office apps open quickly and stay responsive during multitasking.

What display interface does the Intel HD Graphics 620 use and what resolution does it actually drive?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the built-in 14.0" panel at its native 1366 x 768 resolution; external monitor support depends on the video ports fitted to this chassis.

What are the physical dimensions and mounting points for the 512 GB SSD?

The 512 GB drive uses an M.2 form factor; the usable capacity may range from 480 GB to 512 GB depending on the specific module installed.
