Precision 5530 UHD touch workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6 inch mobile workstation with a 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor at 2.90 GHz, boosting to 4.80 GHz, with 32 GB DDR4 RAM. A dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 handles graphics. Storage combines a 128 GB M.2 drive and a 1 TB SSD. Windows 10 Pro is installed.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Creatives and engineers needing a colour-accurate 72% gamut UHD touch display, Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 for external monitors, and ISV-certified Quadro drivers will find this configuration ready for 3D modelling and video editing. Buyers who require more than 32 GB of memory, a newer processor architecture, or a higher refresh-rate panel should consider other options.

Deciding specification: 15.6 inch 3840 x 2160

The 15.6 inch 3840 x 2160 IPS touchscreen is the feature that defines this model. It delivers pixel-precise input and 72% colour gamut coverage for colour-critical work. If the workflow does not demand touch interaction or UHD resolution on a 15.6 inch form factor, a non-touch Full HD variant would reduce cost and power draw.
