Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor and NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics with 4GB GDDR5 memory. It ships with 32GB DDR4 RAM and dual storage comprising a 128GB M.2 drive plus a 4TB SSD. The UHD touchscreen runs at 3840 x 2160 on an IPS panel with 72% colour gamut coverage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Ports power and OS readiness

Verify that your peripherals match the available connections: two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port with PCIe x4 lanes, an HDMI 2.0 output and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The unit includes a Dell AC adapter, so confirm the mains plug suits your region. Windows 11 Pro is already installed and activated, so no separate licence is required. Ensure any external displays support the HDMI 2.0 standard for full 3840 x 2160 output.

Build thermals and daily handling

The platinum-silver chassis uses dual fans to manage heat from the six-core CPU and dedicated Quadro card during sustained workloads. InfinityEdge bezels keep the 15.6-inch footprint compact for a UHD touchscreen, while the IPS panel offers wide viewing angles for collaborative review. Touch input adds direct manipulation for design apps, and the integrated webcam supports video calls without extra hardware. Thunderbolt 3 enables single-cable dock setups for desk-based expansion.
