Precision 7730 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 7730 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H six-core processor. It carries 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe M.2 SSD. A dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P3200 with 6 GB of GDDR5 video memory drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS display. Windows 11 Pro is installed.

Thunderbolt 3 and Quadro graphics

The single Thunderbolt 3 port and HDMI 2.0 output let you attach external displays or storage without adapters. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports handle everyday peripherals. The Quadro P3200 GPU is optimised for CAD and 3D applications, delivering certified driver stability for professional workflows. A Dell AC adapter is included in the box.

Suited for CAD and engineering on the move

This configuration suits engineers and designers who need certified Quadro graphics and a large colour-accurate screen in a portable chassis. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a higher-resolution panel should look at other models. Users requiring a touchscreen or a lighter ultrabook form factor will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

Can the 32 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later if I need more capacity?

The system ships with 32 GB DDR4 installed and the platform supports up to 128 GB DDR4, so additional modules can be added if free slots are available.

Which component reaches its thermal ceiling first when the i7-8750H and Quadro P3200 run flat-out for hours?

The 6-core i7-8750H and the Quadro P3200 with 6 GB GDDR5 share the chassis cooling, so the CPU usually hits its thermal limit before the GPU under sustained all-core loads.

How loud do the fans get and what is the power draw when the laptop runs rendering jobs all day?

Under continuous heavy workloads the cooling fans spin up to audible levels while the 2.20 GHz base / 4.10 GHz boost processor and dedicated graphics draw substantial power from the included AC adapter.
