ThinkPad T490 with Windows 11 Pro

This Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a 14.0 inch FHD ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor running at 1.8 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. The non-touch IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution driven by integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Verify ports and configuration before purchase

The supplier notes that units may be either a T480 or T490 depending on availability. Port counts differ: the T480 offers three USB 3.1 ports, one USB-C port, HDMI and RJ-45 Ethernet, while the T490 layout may vary. SD or MicroSD card readers and fingerprint readers are optional and not guaranteed. Confirm your peripheral and docking needs against this variability.

Bundled adapter and OS readiness

An OEM 45 W or 65 W AC adapter is included so the laptop can be powered straight away. Windows 11 Pro is already installed and licensed, removing the need for a separate operating-system purchase or setup time. No optical drive is present, so any legacy media installation will require an external drive.

Questions about this item

Does the T490 arrive with a power adapter and Windows licence, or must I buy them separately?

The unit ships with an OEM 45 W or 65 W AC adapter and Windows 11 Pro already installed, so no extra purchase is required for either.

Should I pick the 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD configuration or a higher-capacity version?

Choose 16 GB DDR4 and 256 GB SSD if your workload fits in that memory and storage space; select 32 GB RAM or a 512 GB / 1 TB SSD only if you regularly run larger datasets or keep many local files.

What does the 1.8 GHz quad-core i7-8550U actually deliver in daily use?

The four cores at 1.8 GHz with 8 MB cache handle office multitasking, web browsing and video calls smoothly; the integrated UHD 620 graphics drive the 14.0" 1920 x 1080 IPS panel for standard productivity and media playback.
