Power for dual fans
This adapter cable draws 12 V power from a standard Molex LP4 connector on the power supply and splits it to two female headers that accept either 3-pin or 4-pin case fans. It is intended for builders who need to run extra cooling fans when motherboard fan headers are already occupied or unavailable.
Sleeved wiring and fixed speed
The 10 inch cable uses UL 1007 22 AWG copper conductors wrapped in a black sleeved jacket for tidy routing inside the chassis. Only two pins on each fan connector are energised, so the attached fans receive constant voltage and cannot be throttled or controlled through PWM signals from the motherboard.
No speed control via motherboard
Because the adapter passes power directly from the PSU without a PWM wire, fan speed cannot be adjusted in BIOS or software; the fans will run at their full rated RPM whenever the system is on. Builders who require variable fan curves or automatic thermal management should connect fans to motherboard headers instead.

Questions about this item
What does the Molex LP4 connector limit on this cable?
The Molex LP4 plug draws 12 V power from the PSU, but only two pins on each fan header are energised so PWM speed control is not possible.
How much clearance does the 10 inch sleeved cable need inside a case?
The black-sleeved assembly measures 10 inches end-to-end and uses standard UL 1007 22 AWG copper wire, so allow at least that length between the PSU Molex port and the fan headers.
How do you connect fans without losing the PWM signal wire?
Plug each 3-pin or 4-pin fan into the four female headers; the cable supplies power on two pins only, so the fan’s tachometer or PWM wire simply remains unused.
