Rugged 14-inch touchscreen laptop

The DELL Latitude 5424 is a military-grade notebook built for harsh environments with a 14.0-inch FHD display at 1920 x 1080 resolution. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. The system includes 32GB DDR4 memory and dual SSD storage totalling 512GB plus 2TB. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed.

Integrated graphics and connectivity limits

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles basic visual tasks but is not suited for demanding 3D workloads or modern gaming. Wireless connectivity relies on Intel Dual Band Wireless with Bluetooth, while wired options include USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and RJ-45. WWAN LTE and dedicated GPS are listed as optional and may not be present in this unit.

Field-ready installation and common issues

The rugged chassis uses specialised materials and test-to-failure construction, so internal access requires care to preserve sealing against dust and moisture. Hot-swap bridge battery and spare battery chargers are optional accessories not confirmed as included. Touchscreen supports 10-point input with gloves, but screen brightness in direct sunlight varies by panel configuration.
