Built for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14.0-inch laptop designed to operate in harsh environments. Its chassis undergoes test-to-failure validation and meets military-grade standards for durability. The integrated touchscreen supports 10-point input and remains usable with gloves. This machine targets professionals who need reliable mobile computing outdoors or in industrial settings.

Check your peripheral needs

The system provides USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C connection, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and RJ-45 Ethernet. Wireless options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and dedicated GPS, though LTE 4G WWAN may not be included. Verify that your external monitors, docks or legacy devices match these interfaces before ordering. The 256 GB SSD and 8 GB DDR4 memory are the only storage and RAM listed.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous workloads the quad-core i5-8350U runs at up to 3.60 GHz with 6 MB L2 cache while the Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles display output. The rugged thermal design is built for extended operation without throttling in high ambient temperatures. Internal 6- and 9-cell battery packs support full-shift use, and an optional hot-swap bridge battery can extend runtime further.
