Built for harsh environments

The DELL Latitude 5424 Rugged is a new 14.0-inch laptop designed to survive tough conditions. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 8GB DDR4 memory. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display offers visibility in bright outdoor light. Storage combines a 128GB M.2 SSD with a 1TB M.2 SSD.

Upgrade from standard business laptops

This machine replaces conventional notebooks when work takes you into dust, vibration, or extreme temperatures. The military-grade chassis and sunlight-readable screen justify the switch for field technicians, emergency responders, or survey crews. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU. The dual-drive layout keeps the OS responsive while storing large project files locally.

Check your workflow needs

Verify that 8GB of memory meets the demands of your specific applications before ordering. Confirm the non-touch display suits your interaction preference, as this unit does not support touch input. Ensure the available USB 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial, and RJ-45 ports cover your peripheral and docking requirements. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; LTE and GPS availability should be confirmed for your region.

Questions about this item

What mounting options exist for the 14.0-inch rugged chassis?

The Latitude 5424 Rugged uses a reinforced magnesium-alloy frame with integrated mounting points for vehicle docks and desk stands; no VESA pattern is built in.

Which screw type secures the dual M.2 SSD tray during installation?

A single M2x3 mm Phillips screw holds the SSD carrier; the common mistake is reusing the shorter grounding screw, which leaves the drive loose.

When should the 6-cell or 9-cell internal battery be replaced?

Replace the internal pack when Windows reports less than 80 % design capacity or the hot-swap bridge battery no longer sustains the system during a swap.
