Built for harsh environments

The DELL Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14.0-inch laptop constructed with specialised materials and a chassis tested to military-grade standards. It is designed for field workers, engineers and first responders who need a device that survives drops, vibration, dust and moisture while running Windows 11 Pro.

Performance headroom for field workloads

The quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U with 8MB cache reaches 4.20 GHz, paired with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. This combination handles office suites, data logging and mapping software comfortably. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 limits 3D rendering, heavy video editing or modern gaming workloads.

Connectivity and power options for mobility

The unit includes USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and RJ-45 for legacy and industrial peripherals. Optional 6- or 9-cell internal batteries, a hot-swap bridge battery and spare chargers extend operating time away from mains power. A Dell OEM charger is supplied.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 and HDMI ports on this Latitude 5424 work with my older external drives and monitors?

The laptop provides USB 3.0, USB Type C, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, so legacy USB drives and HDMI displays connect directly without adapters.

How can I verify the i7-8650U and 16 GB DDR4 are running correctly after I receive it?

Open Task Manager to confirm the quad-core i7-8650U shows four cores and eight threads, and that 16 GB DDR4 memory is reported at full capacity.

Does the box include the Dell OEM charger and are any cables missing for the Serial or RJ-45 ports?

The Dell OEM charger is included; standard Serial and RJ-45 cables are not supplied and must be purchased separately if required.
