Built for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14.0-inch laptop engineered to survive harsh environments and direct sunlight. Its 10-point touchscreen works with gloves on, and the chassis passes military-grade durability testing. It targets professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Pro machine outdoors, not office workers sitting at a desk.

No user installation required

The system arrives fully assembled with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 256 GB plus 1 TB M.2 storage. There are no internal slots to populate, so nothing can be seated incorrectly. Buyers who want to swap components themselves should look elsewhere, as the sealed rugged design prevents easy access.

Quad-core i7-8650U with integrated graphics

The processor runs at up to 4.20 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache and relies on Intel UHD Graphics 620 for the 1920 x 1080 display. This combination handles business applications and field data entry but cannot drive modern 3D workloads or high-refresh external monitors. If your workflow demands discrete GPU power, this is not the right unit.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the i7-8650U is hitting its 4.20 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, watch the CPU frequency while running a heavy single-thread load; sustained readings at or near 4.20 GHz show the processor is boosting correctly.

Which cables or adapters are not included for the USB 3.0, USB Type C, HDMI, DisplayPort and Serial ports?

The Dell OEM charger is supplied; cables or adapters for USB 3.0, USB Type C, HDMI, DisplayPort and the Serial port must be purchased separately if you do not already own them.

Should I choose the 256 GB M.2 plus 1 TB M.2 dual SSD configuration or a single larger drive?

The dual-drive layout gives a fast 256 GB boot volume and a separate 1 TB data volume, so you get quick Windows 10 Pro starts and ample project space without managing partitions yourself.
