Rugged 14 for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch rugged notebook built to military-grade standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 128 GB SSD. The non-touch FHD display delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output. Connectivity includes USB 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial port and RJ-45.

Suited for mobile professionals.

This machine suits field technicians, emergency responders and survey crews who need a durable, readable screen in direct sunlight and all-day battery options with hot-swap capability. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for rendering, CAD or modern gaming should look elsewhere. The integrated graphics and 128 GB storage limit intensive creative applications. LTE 4G and dedicated GPS variants exist but WWAN may not be included in every unit.

Sustained operation in tough conditions

The chassis uses specialised materials and test-to-failure validation to withstand vibration, shock and temperature extremes. Dual internal battery packs (6- and 9-cell) support full-shift productivity away from power outlets. An optional hot-swap bridge battery extends runtime further without shutting down. The Toughened Direct View panel maintains visibility under bright outdoor light. Thermal design keeps the quad-core processor stable during prolonged field use.
