Business ultrabook with 14.0" touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0" touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a durable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The Full HD IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution for clear visuals in office applications and web-based workflows.

Connectivity suite for desk and travel

Three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, one with PowerShare, sit alongside a USB Type-C port that carries DisplayPort and optional Thunderbolt. HDMI and VGA outputs handle legacy and modern displays, while RJ45, Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth cover wired and wireless networks. An SD slot and optional SIM tray add removable-media and mobile-data flexibility without docking stations.

Integrated graphics keep thermals modest

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory and stays within the 15 W processor envelope, so fan noise remains low during typical productivity loads. The 4.19 lb chassis measures 0.9" at the front, 14.8" wide and 9.87" deep, allowing it to fit standard 15.6" bags while leaving room for a compact charger on the road.

Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the i5-8350U get under all-day load?

The quad-core i5-8350U runs at a 15 W base power and can boost to 3.60 GHz, so sustained workloads will warm the chassis and spin the fan, but the thin 0.9" profile limits cooling capacity.

What must I already own to use the USB Type-C DisplayPort output?

You need a monitor or dock that accepts DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C and a compatible USB-C cable; the port does not carry Thunderbolt unless that option was factory-installed.
