Dell Latitude 5590 15.6" Touchscreen Ultrabook

This Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6 inch FHD touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a durable Windows 11 Pro machine. The 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor runs at 1.70 GHz with a turbo up to 3.60 GHz. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS panel. It suits office productivity, web apps and light content viewing on the go.

16 GB DDR4 RAM and 1 TB SSD capacity

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a one-terabyte solid-state drive give comfortable headroom for multitasking, large document sets and local media libraries. The single SSD slot limits future expansion to a drive swap rather than a second volume. Buyers who want more storage or a dual-drive RAID setup will need a different chassis. Heavy video editing or virtualisation workloads will exhaust the 16 GB ceiling and integrated graphics headroom.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The slim 0.9 inch profile and 4.19 lb weight constrain cooling capacity, so sustained loads spin the fan audibly. In typical office use — email, browser tabs, video calls — the system runs quiet and surface temperatures stay comfortable. Battery life benefits from the low-power U-series chip and 15.6 inch FHD panel. Extended compile or render sessions will throttle performance as thermal limits are reached.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 ports work with my older USB 2.0 peripherals?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 Gen1 ports and the USB Type-C port are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so existing keyboards, mice and drives will function normally.

How can I verify the touchscreen and display are working correctly after setup?

Open Settings > System > Display to confirm 1920 x 1080 resolution, then test touch response by tapping icons and swiping across the 15.6" IPS panel.

Does the box include a VGA or HDMI cable for an external monitor?

The package contains the laptop, power adapter and Windows 11 Pro licence; video cables for the HDMI or VGA ports must be purchased separately.
