ThinkPad T480 / T490 14" FHD Touchscreen

This Lenovo ultrabook delivers a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen driven by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor and 16 GB DDR4 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and a 1 TB SSD for fast boot and application loading. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday visual tasks across the sharp FHD panel. It suits professionals needing a portable, touch-enabled business laptop.

Included OEM adapter and Windows 11 Pro

The box contains an OEM 45 W or 65 W AC adapter matched to the specific unit received, either a T480 or T490 depending on stock. Windows 11 Pro is already installed and activated, removing the need for a separate OS purchase or setup time. Connectivity includes USB 3.1 ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. Optional features such as an SD card reader or fingerprint sensor are not guaranteed on every unit.

1 TB SSD capacity with 16 GB RAM headroom

The 1 TB solid-state drive provides ample space for the operating system, applications and large project files without relying on external storage. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory allows smooth multitasking across office suites, browser tabs and video conferencing. Integrated graphics and the quad-core 1.8 GHz CPU limit performance in sustained heavy rendering, 3D work or modern gaming. Buyers needing discrete GPU power or user-upgradeable memory beyond 16 GB should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Can the 1TB SSD be replaced with a larger SATA or NVME drive later?

Yes, the 1TB SSD uses an M.2 slot that accepts both SATA and NVME modules, so you can swap it for a higher-capacity drive when needed.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-8550U runs at full load for long periods?

The quad-core i7-8550U will hit its thermal ceiling and throttle clock speeds before the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 becomes a bottleneck.

How loud does the cooling fan get and what power draw should I expect during an all-day workload?

Under sustained load the fan spins up to an audible but not intrusive level, and the system draws power from the included 45W or 65W AC adapter depending on which unit ships.
