Secure PIN-authenticated storage

The diskAshur2 is a 1TB portable hard drive that unlocks only after a 7-15 digit PIN is entered on its built-in keypad. It uses AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption to protect data in real time without any software installation. The drive works on any device with a USB port across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Chrome, thin clients, zero clients and embedded systems.

Carry case and quick-start guide included

A protective carry case shields the drive during transport while the quick-start guide gets you running without hunting for drivers or utilities. Because encryption is handled by the onboard microprocessor, there is no software to install, update or configure on the host machine. The drive presents itself as a standard mass-storage device the moment the correct PIN is accepted.

IP56-rated rugged enclosure with USB 3.1

The 2.5-inch blue chassis measures .75 x 4.88 x 3.31 inches and weighs .48 lb, meeting IP56 for dust and splash resistance. A hardware-certified secure microprocessor (Common Criteria EAL5+ ready) defends against tamper and bypass attempts, locking the drive into a deadlock frozen state after automated attacks. USB 3.1 connectivity delivers up to 160MB/s read and 143MB/s write speeds for rapid transfers.

Questions about this item

How often should the USB 3.1 cable or port be checked for wear on the iStorage diskAshur2 1TB?

Inspect the cable and port every few months for bent pins or fraying; the drive itself has no serviceable parts and the IP56-rated enclosure seals out dust and water.

What limits throughput first during long transfers on the iStorage diskAshur2 1TB?

The AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption engine caps sustained rates at 160 MB/s read and 143 MB/s write, so the controller reaches its ceiling before the USB 3.2 interface saturates.

How warm and loud does the iStorage diskAshur2 1TB get when running all day?

The 2.5-inch drive spins silently inside the sealed metal case; surface temperature stays comfortable to touch and power draw stays within the USB 3.1 port's supply capability.
