Secure PIN-authenticated 2TB portable drive

The iStorage diskAshur2 is a 2TB portable hard drive that unlocks only after a 7-15 digit PIN is entered on its built-in keypad. It uses real-time AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption validated to FIPS PUB 197 and a Common Criteria EAL5+ ready secure microprocessor. No software installation is required, so it works on any device with a USB port including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and embedded systems.

Sustained transfer rates over USB 3.1

Sequential read speeds reach 160MB/s and writes reach 143MB/s over the USB 3.1 interface, which is backwards compatible with USB 3.2. The drive enters a deadlock frozen state when an automated attack is detected, protecting data during prolonged unattended use. Its IP56 certified enclosure resists dust and splashes, allowing reliable operation in field conditions.

Check USB port and physical space before ordering

Verify that your host device provides a standard USB-A port or an appropriate adapter for the USB 3.1 connection. The drive measures 0.75in x 4.88in x 3.31in and weighs 0.48lb, so confirm it fits your intended carrying location. Remember that without the correct PIN there is no way to access the encrypted data.

Questions about this item

How warm or noisy does the diskAshur2 2TB get during continuous all-day use?

The drive has no fan and no published acoustic or thermal figures; it draws power only from the USB 3.1 port and runs silently like a standard 2.5" portable HDD.

What must I already own to start using the diskAshur2 2TB immediately?

Any device with a USB port — Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Chrome, thin clients or embedded systems — no software installation is required.

Will the diskAshur2 2TB work reliably alongside my older USB 2.0 laptops and hubs?

Yes, the USB 3.1 interface is backward compatible; transfer speeds simply fall to the host controller's maximum.
