Secure Portable Storage

The iStorage diskAshur2 is a 500GB portable hard drive that protects data with a hardware keypad and real-time AES 256-bit XTS encryption. It is built for professionals and privacy-focused users who need compliant, software-free security on any device with a USB port.

Verify USB Port Availability

Confirm your system has a USB 3.1 or USB 3.2 port to reach the stated 160MB/s read and 143MB/s write speeds; the drive is backwards compatible with older USB standards. No driver installation is required on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome OS, Android, Thin Clients, Zero Clients or embedded systems.

Integrates Into Any Workflow

The 2.5-inch form factor measures 0.75 by 4.88 by 3.31 inches and weighs 0.48 lb, so it fits in a laptop bag without adding bulk. IP56 dust and splash resistance protects the drive in transit, while the self-contained keypad removes the need for software utilities, freeing up system resources and simplifying deployment across mixed-OS environments.

Questions about this item

Does the drive come with a USB cable, or must I buy one separately?

The drive includes a USB 3.1 cable in the box so you can connect it immediately without an extra purchase.

How do I decide between the 500 GB model and other capacities in the diskAshur2 range?

Choose the 500 GB version if you need roughly half a terabyte of encrypted storage; larger capacities cost more and smaller ones hold less.

What do the quoted 160 MB/s read and 143 MB/s write speeds mean when I copy files to the drive?

They are maximum sequential transfer rates over USB 3.1; real-world speeds will vary with file size, system load and the host port.
