Mobile Workstation with 4TB Storage

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Generation Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor. It pairs 32GB of DDR4 memory with a 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and a dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5 video memory. The system runs Windows 11 Pro on a non-touch FHD IPS panel.

Suits Demanding Professional Loads

This configuration suits engineers, designers and analysts who need large local datasets, professional graphics certification and multi-core CPU performance in a portable silver chassis. Buyers who require a touchscreen display, integrated graphics only, or a smaller storage footprint should evaluate alternative models that match those specific requirements.

Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5

The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 GPU provides 4GB of GDDR5 video memory for professional 3D, CAD and rendering applications. This graphics subsystem is the specification that determines whether the workstation meets the demands of certified professional software workflows.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and what step do people miss?

The 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD is already installed from the factory. The step people miss is confirming the drive is detected in BIOS before the first Windows 11 Pro boot.

What maintenance or replacement will the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5 need later?

The NVIDIA Quadro P2000 is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. Maintenance is limited to keeping the dual-fan vents clear of dust so the GPU stays within thermal limits.

What limit appears first on the Intel Core i9-8950HK under sustained 4.80 GHz loads?

The dual-fan cooling system reaches its thermal capacity first, causing the 6-core processor to throttle below its 4.80 GHz turbo frequency during extended heavy workloads.
