Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch UHD touch laptop built for professionals who need workstation-class performance in a portable chassis. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro, an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor, 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 targets CAD, 3D rendering and video workflows.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 connectivity

External displays and peripherals connect through one Thunderbolt 3 port and one HDMI 2.0 output, alongside two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and a headset jack. The Thunderbolt 3 interface carries x4 PCIe lanes for high-speed storage or docks, while HDMI 2.0 supports 4K at 60 Hz. No Ethernet port is present, so wired networking requires a dock or adapter.

Factory-assembled internals limit upgrades

The processor, graphics and display are soldered or integrated, so they cannot be swapped after purchase. Memory slots are not user-accessible on this chassis, locking the system to the installed 16 GB DDR4. Storage can be changed by replacing the single M.2 SSD, but the screw pattern and thermal pad placement demand care. Buyers who need more memory or a second drive should consider a different platform.
