Mobile workstation for demanding workloads

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor. It includes 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 GPU provides 4 GB of GDDR5 video memory for professional graphics applications. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Check ports and power before ordering

Verify that your peripherals match the available connections: two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port with x4 PCIe lanes, and one HDMI 2.0 output. A headphone and microphone combo jack handles audio. The included Dell AC adapter supplies power; confirm the connector fits your workspace layout. The non-touch FHD IPS panel covers a 72% colour gamut.

Premium chassis with versatile mounting

The platinum silver chassis uses a dual-fan cooling system designed to improve airflow during sustained loads. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 enable simple office integration with external displays and docks. The InfinityEdge display reduces bezel width while maintaining structural rigidity. The AC adapter is included for immediate deployment.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop ship with the charger and Windows 10 Pro already installed?

Yes, the Dell AC adapter is included and Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed on the 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4 configuration or upgrade to 32 GB for heavier workloads?

The unit ships with 16 GB DDR4; the platform supports up to 32 GB if you need more memory for large datasets or virtual machines.

What does the i9-8950HK turbo frequency of 4.80 GHz mean for real-world rendering?

The six-core processor can boost to 4.80 GHz under thermal headroom, shortening single-threaded compile and viewport tasks when the Quadro P2000 is not the bottleneck.
