Mobile workstation with hexa-core i9

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card carries 4GB of GDDR5 video memory. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed on the silver chassis.

Suited for GPU-accelerated workflows

This configuration suits engineers, designers and analysts who need certified professional graphics and a large local dataset in a portable form factor. The non-touch FHD IPS panel covers 72% colour gamut for colour-critical tasks. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher refresh-rate display or more than 16GB of system memory should consider other models.

Six-core i9-8950HK with Turbo to 4.80GHz

The processor runs at a 2.90GHz base clock and can reach 4.80GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology across its six cores and twelve threads. This single specification determines whether the laptop meets the compute demands of simulation, rendering or heavy multitasking workloads.

Questions about this item

Does this Precision 5530 need a Thunderbolt dock to drive two external 1080p monitors?

The laptop has one HDMI 2.0 port and one Thunderbolt port; a single HDMI cable will run one monitor, while the second display requires a Thunderbolt adapter or dock.

Will my existing SATA M.2 SSD work as a second drive in the 5530?

The system supports SATA and PCIe NVMe M.2 drives, so a SATA M.2 module can be installed in the open slot.

How can I confirm the Quadro P2000 is running at full 4GB GDDR5 capacity after setup?

Open Windows Device Manager or the NVIDIA Control Panel; the adapter entry will show 4 GB dedicated video memory for the Quadro P2000.
