Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch UHD touch laptop built for professionals who need workstation-class performance in a portable silver chassis. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an 8th-generation Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor with 32 GB of DDR4 memory. The 3840 x 2160 IPS multi-touch display covers 72 % colour gamut for colour-critical tasks.

2 TB NVMe storage and Quadro P2000 graphics

A 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD provides ample space for large project files, datasets and local renders without relying on external drives. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory accelerates CAD, 3D modelling and video workflows, though its 4 GB frame buffer limits very high-resolution GPU rendering or complex simulation scenes.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 expand connectivity

Thunderbolt 3 delivers four lanes of PCIe bandwidth for high-speed external storage, docks or additional GPUs. HDMI 2.0 supports external 4K displays at 60 Hz. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and a headset jack round out the I/O. The included Dell AC adapter powers the system. Buyers needing more than two TB of internal storage or a higher VRAM ceiling for large GPU compute jobs should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port let me keep using my older USB 3.1 Gen 1 dock?

Yes, the Thunderbolt 3 port is backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 1 devices, so your existing dock will work at USB 3.1 speeds.

How can I confirm the 3840 x 2160 touch display is running at its native resolution after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings and verify the resolution shows 3840 x 2160; the touch test in Tablet PC Settings should register input across the full 15.6" panel.

Does the box include a Thunderbolt 3 cable for external monitors, or do I need to buy one?

The box includes the Dell AC adapter; a Thunderbolt 3 cable for monitors is not included and must be purchased separately.
