Precision 5530 UHD Touch Mobile Workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6" mobile workstation with a 3840 x 2160 UHD touchscreen. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor paired with 32 GB DDR4 RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. An NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 handles professional graphics workloads.

Suited for colour-critical creative workflows

The 72% colour-gamut IPS panel and Quadro P2000 serve designers and engineers who need accurate touch input and certified drivers. Buyers who require higher GPU memory for large 3D scenes or multiple external 4K displays should consider a larger workstation class.

3840 x 2160 touch display decides fit

The 15.6" UHD touchscreen delivers pixel-accurate pen and finger interaction for modelling and review tasks. If the workflow does not need touch or native 4K resolution, a non-touch Precision model with the same processor and GPU will cost less.

Questions about this item

How is the 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD installed and what step is often missed?

The drive slots into the M.2 connector and is secured with a single screw; people often forget to reinstall the thermal pad that bridges the controller to the chassis.

What maintenance will the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 need later?

No user-serviceable parts exist on the GPU; plan only for periodic driver updates and repasting the heatsink if temperatures climb after several years.

What limit appears first on the 3840 x 2160 touchscreen during sustained load?

The 72 % colour-gamut panel is the first bottleneck; it cannot reproduce the full gamut required for colour-critical work even though the GPU has headroom.
