Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel six-core i9-8950HK processor and an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 memory. It targets engineers, designers and analysts who need certified professional graphics and high single-thread performance in a thin chassis. The UHD IPS touch panel covers 72% color gamut for colour-critical workflows.

Factory-sealed unit ready to deploy

The laptop arrives with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed and the Dell AC adapter in the box, so first boot requires only the initial OS setup. Internal storage and memory are not user-accessible without removing the bottom cover, which voids the factory seal; buyers planning future upgrades should order the final configuration from the start. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports handle external displays without adapters.

Check power and peripheral needs first

The 8950HK runs at 2.90 GHz base and up to 4.80 GHz turbo, so sustained loads demand the supplied adapter and adequate ventilation on the work surface. Only two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports are present, so users with multiple legacy peripherals will need a hub or dock. The 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD leaves no free M.2 slot for additional internal storage.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 15.6" 3840 x 2160 touch display and i9-8950HK are performing correctly after setup?

Open Windows Display settings to verify 3840 x 2160 resolution and test multi-touch response; use Task Manager Performance tab to confirm six cores, 12 threads, and clock speeds up to 4.80 GHz; run the NVIDIA control panel to validate Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5 is the active GPU for 3D workloads.

What is included in the box and what must be purchased separately?

The laptop, Dell AC adapter, and Windows 10 Pro are included; the specification lists 32 GB DDR4 RAM and 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD already installed, so no memory or storage upgrades are required for the advertised configuration.

Which configuration should I choose among the listed storage capacities?

This unit is the 4TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD variant; other available capacities are 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1TB, so select the 4TB model if you need the maximum factory-installed solid-state storage.
