Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor and NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics with 4 GB GDDR5 memory. It targets professionals who need certified application performance in a thin silver chassis. The UHD 3840 x 2160 IPS touch display covers 72 % colour gamut for colour-critical tasks. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

InfinityEdge touch display and port layout

The 15.6-inch InfinityEdge panel uses IPS technology and multi-touch input, letting you review detailed models or grade footage directly on screen. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports handle legacy peripherals while a single Thunderbolt 3 connection and HDMI 2.0 output drive external displays and high-speed storage. A combined headphone and microphone jack completes the physical interface set.

512 GB NVMe SSD and 8 GB DDR4 baseline

The system ships with a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and 8 GB of DDR4 memory, providing fast boot and application launch for the installed Windows 10 Pro environment. Memory can be expanded to 32 GB for larger datasets, while the NVMe drive keeps project files responsive. Buyers who need more storage or memory out of the box should plan an upgrade.

Questions about this item

Does the Thunderbolt 3 port support 40 Gbps and drive two 4K displays?

What screw size and slot key does the M.2 slot use for the 512 GB drive?

The 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD is factory-installed in a key-M slot secured by a single 3 mm standoff screw.

How do I reinstall Windows 10 Pro after swapping the SSD, and what step is often missed?

Use the Dell OS Recovery Image tool on another PC to create a bootable USB, boot from it, and install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver before the setup sees the NVMe drive.
