ASUS VivoBook 17.3 inch laptop

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch laptop built for office work and study. It pairs a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 20GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 128GB PCIe SSD plus 1TB HDD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Integrated graphics and display limits

The Intel UHD Graphics core handles everyday video playback and light productivity but cannot drive modern games or GPU-accelerated workloads. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel runs at 60Hz, so motion clarity tops out at that refresh rate. External displays connect through the single HDMI port.

20GB DDR4 memory configuration

System memory totals 20GB DDR4, composed of 4GB soldered on-board and a 16GB SO-DIMM module. The on-board portion cannot be removed, so maximum capacity is fixed at this level. Buyers who need more than 20GB of RAM should consider a different platform.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 20GB DDR4 option or a different capacity?

This unit ships with 20GB DDR4 (4GB soldered + 16GB SO-DIMM) and has no empty slot, so the capacity is fixed at the factory configuration.

What does the 3.6 GHz turbo actually deliver in daily use?

The Core i5-1035G1 reaches 3.6 GHz on short bursts for snappy app launches and light multitasking, then settles to lower clocks for sustained workloads.

What can the USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1 port handle in practice?

The USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1 port runs at 5 Gbps for data, drives an external display via HDMI alt-mode, and does not supply charging power — the 45W barrel adapter is the sole power input.
