17.3" FHD IPS Laptop with 36GB RAM

This ASUS VivoBook combines a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, 36GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 2TB PCIe SSD plus 2TB HDD. It ships with Windows 10 Home and includes WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, a fingerprint reader and a backlit keyboard.

Who this suits and who it does not

The large screen and generous memory make it suitable for office multitasking, student work and media consumption. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics processor for gaming or creative rendering should look elsewhere.

The spec that decides fit

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics shares system memory and cannot accelerate modern 3D workloads; confirm that your applications run acceptably on integrated graphics before purchase.

Questions about this item

How warm or loud does the 45 W power supply and 47 WHr battery get during all-day use?

The 45 W adapter and 47 WHr battery are sized for the 10th Gen Core i5-1035G1 and integrated Intel UHD graphics, so typical office workloads keep heat and fan noise moderate.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1, HDMI and micro-SD ports?

You need a USB-C device or hub, an HDMI cable and display, and micro-SD cards — none are included in the box.

Will my existing USB 2.0 accessories work with the two USB 2.0 ports on this S712JA-WH54?

Yes, both USB 2.0 ports are backward-compatible, so older mice, keyboards and drives connect without adapters.
