Screen and processor

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch laptop with a Full HD IPS display and a 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor. It suits office workers and students who need a large screen for documents and multitasking. The integrated Intel UHD graphics handle everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU.

Storage and input features

A 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD provides fast boot and application loading while a 1TB hard drive adds bulk capacity for files. The backlit full-size keyboard includes a numeric keypad and a fingerprint reader supports Windows Hello sign-in. WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 deliver modern wireless connectivity.

Memory and port checklist

The system ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory split between onboard and removable slots so upgrade potential depends on the free SO-DIMM socket. Verify that your peripherals match the available USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports. There is no optical drive included.

Questions about this item

Can the 4 GB SODIMM DDR4 module be swapped for a larger stick later?

Yes, the 8 GB DDR4 memory is split as 4 GB onboard plus a 4 GB SODIMM, so the removable stick can be replaced with a higher-capacity DDR4 module.

What caps the CPU speed when the i5-1035G1 runs at full load for long periods?

The 45 W power supply and 47 Whr battery limit sustained performance, so the 3.6 GHz turbo cannot be held indefinitely under heavy workloads.

How loud or hot does the chassis get with the 45 W adapter and 47 Whr battery during all-day use?

The 45 W supply and 47 Whr battery keep thermals moderate; fan noise stays low for typical office tasks and rises only under continuous heavy load.
