ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 17.3" FHD laptop

This ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch Full HD laptop powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 36GB of DDR4 memory and an 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro and features Intel UHD integrated graphics on a 60Hz IPS display.

Suits users needing massive storage

The 8TB SSD and 17.3 inch panel serve professionals who work with large local files and prefer a bigger workspace. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for gaming or rendering, a touchscreen, or a lighter chassis for frequent travel should look elsewhere.

Deciding spec: 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It determines whether the machine can hold your entire working library without external drives, and it is not user-replaceable with a larger capacity.

Questions about this item

How do I add more RAM to the VivoBook S712JA-WH54 and what mistake should I avoid?

The laptop has 4 GB soldered and a 32 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM in the single slot; to increase memory you must remove that module and fit a higher-capacity DDR4 stick — do not buy a second SO-DIMM expecting a second slot.

Which component in the S712JA-WH54 is most likely to need replacement first?

The 3-cell 47 WHr battery will lose capacity after several hundred charge cycles and is the only part designed for user replacement.

What performance limit appears first during a long heavy workload on the i5-1035G1?

The 45 W power adapter cannot sustain the processor at its 3.6 GHz turbo, so clock speeds drop once the thermal budget is reached.
