Large-screen productivity laptop

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 combines a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with a quad-core Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, 36GB of DDR4 memory and an 8TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Home and includes a backlit full-size keyboard, fingerprint reader, 720p webcam, Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

Upgraded memory and storage configuration

The system pairs 4GB of onboard DDR4 with a 32GB SO-DIMM module for 36GB total RAM, while the 8TB NVMe SSD replaces the standard drive. These upgrades are performed by opening the manufacturer box, installing the components and testing the laptop before resealing it.

Handles heavy multitasking and large local libraries

The 36GB memory and 8TB solid-state drive provide headroom for running many applications simultaneously and storing extensive media or project files locally. Integrated Intel UHD graphics and the 47 Whr battery limit sustained gaming, 3D rendering or all-day unplugged work away from a power outlet.

Questions about this item

How much of the 36 GB DDR4 memory can be upgraded later?

The 32 GB SO-DIMM slot is user-accessible; the 4 GB onboard portion is soldered and cannot be changed.

What limits sustained performance from the Core i5-1035G1 during long workloads?

The 45 W power adapter and 47 Wh battery cap the power envelope, so the 3.6 GHz turbo cannot be held continuously.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the laptop runs all day?

The 47 Wh battery and 45 W charger keep thermals modest; fan noise stays at office-background levels under normal loads.
