Large 17.3 inch workspace

This ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch laptop with a Full HD IPS display. It runs on a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 20GB DDR4 memory. Storage combines a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD and a 1TB HDD. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Who this suits and who it does not

The large screen and dual-drive layout suit office workers and students who need space for files and multitasking. Integrated Intel UHD graphics limit buyers who want to play modern games or render video. The single USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port may frustrate users with several high-speed peripherals.

The specification that decides fit

The 20GB DDR4 memory (4GB onboard plus 16GB SO-DIMM) is the key figure for multitasking headroom. It cannot be upgraded beyond this configuration. Buyers who need more memory for virtual machines or large datasets should look at a different platform.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions and weight of the ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 so I can choose a fitting bag or sleeve?

The laptop measures 16.00 IN wide by 10.06 IN deep by .6 IN high and weighs 5.06lb.

How is the 20GB DDR4 memory configured, and which slot should I use if I want to add more later?

The system has 4GB soldered onboard plus a 16GB SO-DIMM in the single removable slot; that slot is already occupied, so any upgrade means replacing the existing module.

What is the battery capacity and can I replace it myself when it wears out?

It uses a 3-Cell 47 WHr battery; the pack is internal and not designed for user replacement, so a service centre would need to swap it.
