17.3-inch laptop for everyday work

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 pairs a 10th Generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 8GB of DDR4 memory. The four-core CPU runs at a 1.00GHz base frequency and can reach 3.6GHz turbo speed. It is suited to students or office users who need a large 1920 x 1080 IPS display for documents and web browsing.

Dual-drive storage with 2TB total capacity

A 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD holds the operating system and applications for fast boot and load times. The additional 1TB hard drive provides bulk space for media libraries and backups. The 8GB memory configuration uses 4GB onboard and a 4GB SO-DIMM module, so heavy multitasking or virtual machines will exhaust available RAM.

47Wh battery and 45W power supply

The three-cell 47Wh battery and 45W adapter support typical productivity sessions away from a desk. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics and the 60Hz panel keep heat output modest during office tasks. Fan noise stays low for standard workloads but rises under sustained processor load, and the compact chassis limits thermal headroom for extended heavy compute.

Questions about this item

Will my older USB 2.0 peripherals work with the USB 3.2 Gen1 and USB 2.0 ports on this laptop?

Yes, the laptop includes one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port and two USB 2.0 ports. USB 3.2 Gen1 is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so older peripherals will function normally at USB 2.0 speeds.

How can I confirm the 17.3" Full HD IPS display is running at its native 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate after setup?

Open Windows Settings, go to System > Display > Advanced display settings, and verify the resolution shows 1920 x 1080 with a 60 Hz refresh rate for the built-in display.

Does the box include a Micro SD card or an HDMI cable, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the laptop, a 45W power adapter, and documentation. A Micro SD card and HDMI cable are not included and must be purchased separately if needed.
