17.3-inch FHD IPS laptop with dual storage

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 pairs a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor. It ships with 12GB of DDR4 memory and a hybrid storage array of 512GB SATA SSD plus 1TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate productivity.

USB-C, HDMI and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity

The chassis provides one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1 port, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI output for external monitors. A micro SD reader and combo audio jack round out the I/O. Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Bluetooth 5.1 handle wireless networking and peripherals without extra dongles.

45W adapter and 47Wh battery for daily use

A 45W power supply charges the 3-cell 47Wh battery while the integrated Intel UHD graphics keep thermal output modest during office tasks. The backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader add convenience without noticeably increasing power draw. Fan noise stays low under typical workloads such as document editing or video playback.

Questions about this item

Will the 45 W power supply keep the i5-1035G1 at its 3.6 GHz turbo during long workloads?

The 45 W adapter matches the laptop's rated input; sustained turbo depends on thermal limits of the cooling system.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the 17.3" IPS panel and CPU run all day?

The 3-cell 47 Whr battery and 45 W supply indicate modest heat output; fan noise rises under load but stays typical for a slim 17-inch chassis.

Which DDR4 SODIMM slot is free if I want to expand the 12 GB (4 GB onboard + 8 GB module) memory?

One SODIMM slot is occupied by the 8 GB stick; the second slot is empty and accepts DDR4 modules.
