Large-screen productivity laptop

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch Full HD IPS laptop powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with four cores and a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 20GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 512GB SATA SSD plus 2TB HDD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for professional environments.

Silver chassis with fingerprint reader and WiFi 6

The silver chassis measures 16.00 by 10.06 by .6 inches and weighs 5.06lb, housing a backlit full-size keyboard with numeric keypad and a fingerprint security system. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 AX201, Bluetooth 5.1, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1, HDMI, a micro SD reader and a combo audio jack. A 720p HD webcam supports video calls.

Upgraded memory and storage for multitasking

This configuration upgrades the base model to 20GB DDR4 (4GB onboard plus 16GB SO-DIMM) and adds a 2TB hard drive alongside the 512GB SATA SSD. The jump is worthwhile for users who keep many applications open and store large local libraries. Buyers who need discrete graphics or a higher-colour-gamut display should consider other lines.

Questions about this item

What speeds does the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port support?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port runs at up to 5 Gbps and handles data, display output and charging through a single reversible connector.

What are the exact chassis dimensions for bag or sleeve fitting?

The chassis measures 16.00 IN wide, 10.06 IN deep and .6 IN high, weighing 5.06 lb, so a 17.3 inch sleeve with a little extra depth fits best.

How do I add more memory and which slot do I use?

The laptop has 4 GB soldered on the board and one SO-DIMM slot already filled with a 16 GB DDR4 module; to increase capacity you must replace that module with a larger DDR4 stick.
