Ready for daily work

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3 inch laptop built around a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with four cores and a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB SATA SSD running Windows 11 Home. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display and integrated Intel UHD graphics handle office applications and media playback.

Suited for general use, not heavy loads

This configuration fits students, home-office workers and anyone who values a large screen and ample storage for documents and media. The 8 GB of RAM is soldered in part and the integrated graphics limit gaming or video-editing performance. Buyers who need more memory or a discrete GPU should look at other configurations.

2 TB SATA SSD decides the fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 2 TB SATA solid-state drive. It provides large capacity for files and applications but uses the SATA interface rather than a faster protocol. If your workflow demands the highest sequential transfer speeds, verify that SATA performance meets your requirements before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.2 Gen1 port work with my older USB 2.0 external hard drive?

Yes, the USB 3.2 Gen1 port is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so your external hard drive will function at USB 2.0 speeds.

How can I verify the 2TB SATA SSD is recognised and performing correctly after first boot?

Open Settings > System > Storage to confirm the 2TB capacity appears, then run a quick benchmark such as CrystalDiskMark to check sequential read and write speeds match SATA SSD expectations.

Does the box include a Micro SD card or must I purchase one separately?

The laptop includes a Micro SD reader but no Micro SD card; you will need to buy a card separately if you want to use that slot.
