17.3″ FHD IPS laptop with dual storage

This ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 is a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS laptop powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with a base speed of 1.00GHz and turbo up to 3.6GHz. It ships with Windows 11 Home 64-bit and integrates Intel UHD graphics. The configuration includes 20GB of DDR4 memory, a 256GB SATA SSD and a 2TB hard drive for combined capacity.

Suits office and study users; not for heavy graphics

The large 1920 x 1080 60Hz screen, backlit keyboard with numeric keypad and fingerprint reader make it practical for document work, web browsing and video calls. Integrated Intel UHD graphics and a 45W power supply limit 3D performance, so buyers who need discrete GPU power for gaming, rendering or CAD should look at systems with dedicated graphics cards.

20GB DDR4 (4GB soldered + 16GB SO-DIMM)

Memory is configured as 4GB onboard plus a 16GB DDR4 SO-DIMM module totalling 20GB. This mixed layout means only the SO-DIMM slot can be upgraded, and any added module must match DDR4 specifications. Verify your workload fits within this ceiling before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 256GB SATA SSD or the 2TB HDD as my main drive?

Use the 256GB SATA SSD for Windows 11 Home and your most-used applications so the system boots and launches quickly. Keep the 2TB HDD for large media libraries, backups and files you open less often.

What does the 3.6 GHz turbo frequency actually deliver in daily use?

The Core i5-1035G1 runs at 1.00 GHz base and can boost to 3.6 GHz on up to four cores for short bursts, so web browsing, office work and video playback stay responsive while the 20GB DDR4 handles multitasking.

What speeds does the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port support and what can I connect?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port runs at up to 5 Gbps and carries data, video and power for compatible hubs, external SSDs or a 1080p display; two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port handle mice, keyboards and flash drives.
