VivoBook 17.3" for everyday productivity

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA is a 17.3 inch Full HD laptop powered by a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with four cores and a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 20GB DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 256GB SATA SSD plus 1TB HDD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate use.

Suits office work and study.

This configuration fits students, home-office users and small-business staff who need a large IPS display, fingerprint login and WiFi 6 connectivity for routine tasks. Buyers who want discrete graphics for video editing, 3D rendering or modern gaming should look at a different class of machine because the integrated Intel UHD graphics cannot handle those workloads.

Upgraded memory and storage change daily

The 16GB SODIMM added to the 4GB onboard module raises total RAM to 20GB DDR4, allowing more browser tabs and smoother multitasking than the base 8GB build. The 256GB SATA SSD accelerates boot and application launch while the 1TB HDD provides bulk space for documents and media without relying on external drives.

Questions about this item

Does the 256GB SATA SSD + 1TB HDD storage require an operating system to be installed before the laptop can boot?

Windows 10 Pro-64 is pre-installed on the 256GB SATA SSD so the laptop boots to the desktop without any extra setup.

Can I keep using my existing USB 2.0 flash drives and USB 3.2 Gen1 peripherals with the ports on this laptop?

Yes — the laptop provides two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port and one USB 3.2 Type-C Gen1 port, all of which accept your current devices.

How can I confirm the 20GB DDR4 memory (4GB onboard + 16GB SO-DIMM) is recognised after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab and choose Memory — it will show 20GB total with the correct DDR4 type.
