17.3" Full HD IPS laptop for everyday work

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 pairs a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 128GB SATA SSD plus 1TB HDD. A 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS panel provides a large, clear workspace. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles standard desktop tasks and video playback.

Dual storage, modern connectivity

The 128GB SATA SSD accelerates boot and application launch while the 1TB HDD stores large file libraries. Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Bluetooth 5.1 deliver current wireless standards. Ports include USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and a micro SD reader. A fingerprint sensor and 720p webcam support secure sign-in and video calls. The backlit full-size keyboard includes a numeric keypad.

Suits office, study and media use on a big screen

Buyers who want a spacious 17.3-inch display, ample combined storage and modern Wi-Fi 6 for general productivity will find this configuration practical. Users who need discrete graphics performance for gaming or GPU-accelerated creative work should look at a different class of machine. Anyone requiring a touchscreen or an optical drive will not find those features here. The 45W power supply and 47 WHr battery support typical mobile use.

Questions about this item

Can the 4 GB SODIMM DDR4 module be replaced with a larger stick later?

Yes, the 8 GB total uses 4 GB onboard plus a 4 GB SODIMM DDR4 module, so the removable slot can take a larger DDR4 stick.

Does the 128 GB SATA SSD or the 1 TB HDD become the bottleneck during long file transfers?

The 128 GB SATA SSD has lower sustained throughput than the 1 TB HDD, so it will saturate first on large writes.

How loud does the fan get when the 45 W charger keeps the 47 WHr battery topped up all day?

The 45 W power supply and 47 WHr battery mean modest heat output, so the fan stays quiet during typical all-day use.
