17.3-inch FHD laptop for everyday work

The ASUS VivoBook S712JA-WH54 pairs a 10th Generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 20GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout of 256GB SATA SSD plus 1TB HDD. Windows 11 Home runs on a 17.3-inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles the display output.

45W adapter and 47Wh battery for daily mobility

A 45W power supply charges the 3-cell 47Wh battery, which supports typical office tasks away from a desk. The low-power i5-1035G1 and integrated graphics keep heat and fan noise modest during web browsing, document editing and video playback. No discrete GPU means lower sustained power draw under light loads.

Silver chassis with fingerprint reader and USB-C

The silver finish covers a full-size backlit keyboard with numeric keypad and a built-in fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello sign-in. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 AX201, Bluetooth 5.1, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, HDMI, a microSD reader and a combo audio jack. A 720p webcam sits above the non-touch display.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 16 GB DDR4 SO-DIMM into the laptop, and what step do people often miss?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the module into the empty slot at an angle, press down until the clips click, then replace the cover. The step often missed is pressing firmly enough to fully seat the clips.

What maintenance will the 47 WHr battery need over time?

The 3-cell 47 WHr battery is not user-replaceable. When runtime drops noticeably, a service centre must swap the internal pack.

At what point does the 45 W power supply become the limiting factor during sustained loads?

Under continuous heavy CPU and GPU use the 45 W adapter can hit its output ceiling, causing the system to throttle clock speeds to stay within the power budget.
