Purpose & Audience

This ASUS VivoBook laptop pairs a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor with 20GB DDR4 memory and dual storage. The 17.3 inch Full HD IPS display provides a large workspace for office tasks, study or media consumption in a silver chassis.

Upgrade Context

It replaces older machines limited to 8GB RAM or single mechanical drives by adding a 512GB SATA SSD for the operating system alongside a 1TB HDD for bulk files. The jump is worthwhile when multitasking across browser tabs, documents and video calls demands more memory and faster boot times than a traditional hard drive alone can deliver.

Compatibility Check

Verify that your peripherals connect via USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, HDMI or the micro SD reader. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and includes a 720p webcam, fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard for secure sign-in and low-light typing.

Questions about this item

Will the 17.3 inch chassis fit in a standard 17 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 16.00 inches wide by 10.06 inches deep, so compare those dimensions to the sleeve's internal size before buying.

How do I add more memory to the 20GB DDR4 configuration?

The 16GB SODIMM slot is user accessible; remove the bottom cover, insert a compatible DDR4 module at the correct angle until it clicks, then secure the retaining clips.

When should I replace the 3 cell 47 WHr battery?

Plan a replacement when Windows reports significantly reduced capacity or the laptop no longer holds a charge through a typical work session.
